The PME Líder status is an IAPMEI certification that results from a rigorous application process. Many companies aspire to achieve this title, and that was what eNGN Technologies did this year.
What were the key factors that led eNGN to achieve the PME Líder 2020 title?
We reached the category of small enterprise back in April and now the PME Líder status. This is a reputation seal created by IAPMEI to distinguish the merits of national Small and Medium enterprises with superior performances, so we are truly excited and honored.
Our strategies to pursue growth, strengthen our competitive base, and having high levels of performance and financial soundness were key factors to achieve this status, besides meeting various P&L report criteria.
We all understand that SMEs are known as the backbone of the national economy, being the drivers of innovation and growth and the main generator of employment, so this achievement tells us we are doing it right.
What are the advantages of this recognition?
Government initiatives like the PME Líder ease the financing conditions and are of great utility to Portuguese SMEs. We now have access to special financial products including credit, to a network of services like formative offers (Academia APEE – Portuguese Association of Business Ethics), and the prestige associated with the PME Líder brand in the relationship with its stakeholders and all our customers.
What does this milestone mean to you, especially in a year as unusual as 2020?
It means another excellent achievement of this hard-working team. The recognition of eNGN’s performance and risk profile, even more in these difficult times. It is therefore time to thank the trust of our Customers, Partners, and Employees, without whom it would not be possible to achieve this milestone.
What about the future? Can you specify any goals and ambitions for the upcoming years?
eNGN has the same goal and ambition since day one, and that is to become a valuable partner for the most important companies and R&D centers operating in Portugal, independently of the business area we are working with. Having that in mind, grow an honest and strong relationship with our customers is just the regular path to reach our goals. One important thing is that we need to keep adapting fast to the world’s changes and the constantly changing needs of our customers, that is the real challenge.
